Newton’s Nook Cuppa Cactus

As I continue to add content to my blog, I chose this colorful card to share today!  It’s especially meaningful as I created it upon request from White Rose Crafts to feature Doodles Paper Playground Sparkle Blends sequin mix!  What an honor it was to be asked to create for them!  It happens to be my very first shaker card too!  Let me see if I can recall how I made it!  To begin, I stamped out the images from Newton’s Nook Cuppa Cactus set and colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.  I used the handy dies to cut them out, then coated with a glaze of Versamark and clear embossing powder.

Setting those aside, I cut a small panel of white card stock, sponged lightly with Broken China distress ink, then cut out a black frame of cardstock using two of my Gina Marie Designs Stitched Rectangle dies.  I cut strips of foam tape to adhere the two together with a panel of clear acetate in between.  I attached the sponged panel to the white card base, placed a small handful of Citrus Twist Sparkle Blends onto the base, and placed the black frame over it, pressing all around the edges to adhere it firmly.  I then added pieces of foam tape to the cactus pots and mounted them onto the base of the black frame.

Lastly, I stamped the Hello sentiment from the Cuppa Cactus set and breathed a sigh of relief!  I love how this turned out, but I definitely felt a little challenged!  The Sparkle Blend Citrus Twist sequins look GREAT, don’t you think?!
