Simon Says Stamp Bouquet of Thanks III

2018-03-25 10.15.11
I think this is one of my favorite sets by Simon Says Stamp!  I had just gotten the die that goes with Bouquet of Thanks and had to try it out!  The first thing I did for this card was stamp the image onto Bristol Smooth paper and color with Zig markers.  I chose assorted bright colors and used a little water to soften them.  I then used the die to cut out the image and set it aside while I figured out my next steps!

Using my Hero Arts Ribbon Messages Stamp & Cut set, I stamped out Get Well onto a strip of watercolor paper then cut it with the banner die, adding a larger background banner in blue.  I had the Gina Marie Designs Stitched Rectangle die already in my stash and decided to incorporate it into my card somehow.

This pretty red and white polka-dotted paper came in a thick paper pad given to me by my daughter, Caitlin and was the perfect background for my card!  I trimmed down a panel of it to fit on my white card base, then attached the Stitched Rectangle die cut in the center; I think it helps to break up the dotty background and nicely frames the flowers!  The flowers were mounted with bits of foam tape and the last detail was to add some Nuvo Drops in Caribbean Ocean blue randomly onto the background!  There’s a lot going on, but it all works beautifully, I think, don’t you?  I hope that this card cheers up whoever receives it!

Simon Says Stamp Bouquet of Thanks II

May I say how grateful I am for YOU?!  I appreciate you taking the time to visit my blog and hope you enjoy everything you see!  🙂  I made this card using Simon Says Stamp’s Bouquet of Thanks set, stamping it out onto a piece of Strathmore Bristol Vellum paper with Versafine Onyx Black permanent ink.  I proceeded to color the image using Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.  To create the watery gray background, I just outlined the image, a little at a time, with one of the gray markers and spread the color liberally with lots of water!  Finally, I spattered water from a paint brush and then some of the gray and pink ink watered down and lastly, a little black craft paint.

To complete my card, I mounted the panel onto a layer of black card stock, then onto a base card of white.  I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black.

I want to share a completely different card using the same stamp set!  The dotted background is actually part of the packaging from Unity Stamps and I had it tucked away in my stash!  I cut it down to A2 size (4 1/4″  X 5 1/2″) then heat-embossed the image in black.  Using my Prismacolor Pencils  I colored in the petals with shades of brown and then a layer of white; I used a damp paint brush to soften the color a bit.  I layered the panel onto white card stock, and then a base card of brown.  I love the versatility of this stamp set!

Stampendous Christmas Roses

Who says Christmas Rose is just for Christmas?  This beautiful image is from Stampendous and I wanted to use it in a non-holiday manner, so I heat-embossed it in white then proceeded to color it with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, and used a water brush.  When I finished coloring, I made a mask to cover the image, then stamped over it with Carta Bella Christmas Plaid background stamp twice with Distress inks (Pumice Stone and Fossilized Amber).  After removing the mask, I used my water brush around the image to create that watery look.

The final step was to mount the panel onto a white base card and add a little sentiment from Simon Says Stamp’s Bouquet of Thanks set!  I’m pretty satisfied with this non-holiday card!

More Kaleidoscope of Leaves!

A cold winter-y weekend in Vermont had me dreaming of a tropical vacation and sunshine!  It also meant staying inside and making cards!  I’ve had this Simon Says Stamp Kaleidoscope Leaves background stamp for a few weeks but haven’t used it till now!  It was so fun to color in the details with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, starting with the blue, then adding orange and green.  I left some white for the contrast.  After coloring, I trimmed the panel down enough to add the gold and white layers behind it.

I stamped and embossed in gold the beautiful blossom and stem from Simon Says Stamp’s Summer Flowers set onto a die-cut piece of card stock using Gina Marie Designs Stitched  Rectangle dies.  I colored the image with Zig Clean Color Brush markers then gold-embossed the Hello sentiment which is from SSS’s Bouquet of Thanks set.  I die-cut another rectangle of fun foam to lift the floral image, mounted it to the background and used a bright aqua base card to complete my design!  My little piece of tropical paradise!

Altenew Layered Floral Cover Dies

Altenew Layered Floral Cover Dies are to die for!!  I’ve had my eye on these for some time now and finally bought them last fall and created my first card with them!  The look is so striking and intricate yet they’re easy to use!  Here’s how I made this: I cut the black layer from Plate A then the second layer from Plate B on regular weight ivory card stock.  Using sponge daubers, I lightly sponged color onto the sections with Ranger Distress inks, Worn Lipstick and Peeled Paint.

I then adhered the black layer to the lower layer using Crystal Effects as glue and attached them to a card base of smoky gray.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp’s Bouquet of Thanks set which I stamped onto a scrap of card stock and added two little jewels of green.  Now, how simple is that?!

Simon Says Stamp Bouquet of Thanks

I created this card using Simon Says Stamp’s beautiful set called Bouquet of Thanks.  I heat-embossed the image in silver, then colored it with Zig Clean Color brush markers with water.  I added jewels to the center of each flower, then die-cut the oval with Gina Marie Designs Stitched Oval dies.

The base card is embossed and the oval was adhered by mounting it on another oval cut from fun foam to give it dimension.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black and mounted that over the oval.  I love the combination of colors in this card!  I photographed it in the late afternoon which gives the photo interesting shadows!
